Viet Kids

In 2005, I started a non-profit organization called Viet Kids Inc. My goal was, and still is, so simple: to buy bicycles for poor students who otherwise would walk two hours to and two hours from school. With a bike, the trip would shorten to half an hour, leaving energy to spend in the classrooms.

Each bike costs $75 and will alter a student’s life. For one, she or he is not falling asleep or falling over from exhaustion. Two, more energy means better concentration means better grades means more options. Having a bicycle could lead to winning a scholarship or starting a business or going somewhere with friends.

Each year, Viet Kids has been able to give away 30 to 50 bikes, plus funding for tuition, uniforms, and rice—basics that every student needs. Viet Kids has no overhead expenses. Every donated dollar goes directly to Vietnam.

Thank you for your donation!  After you donate, please send me an email at thanhhalai65@gmail.com so I can thank you personally.

Lastly, a special thank you to students at Village Elementary School in Syosset, NY for raising $1,822 for Viet Kids in a walkathon. This donation will buy 24 bicycles. Hooray!!!!
